Cleveland Browns fall to Houston Texans 22-36
Stroud leads Texans to victory with 270 passing yards, 3 TDs
Watson and Browns held to 22 points, 82 rushing yards
The Cleveland Browns suffered a disappointing 22-36 loss to the Houston Texans on Saturday, December 24, in a game that saw several key factors contribute to the result.
One of the biggest factors in the game was the performance of Texans' rookie quarterback CJ Stroud. Stroud had a breakout game, passing for 270 yards and three touchdowns. He also showed great poise under pressure, making several key throws on third down and in the red zone.
The Browns, on the other hand, struggled to find their footing on offense. Quarterback Deshaun Watson was held to just 22 points, while the team managed only 82 rushing yards. The Browns also committed several penalties, which stalled drives and gave the Texans good field position.
In the end, the Texans' strong performance on both sides of the ball proved to be too much for the Browns. The Texans recorded four sacks and forced two turnovers, while their offense converted 10 of 15 third downs.
The loss drops the Browns to 6-9 on the season, while the Texans improve to 8-7. The Browns will look to bounce back next week when they host the Pittsburgh Steelers, while the Texans will travel to face the Jacksonville Jaguars.
