Mum's Outrage Over Broadcast

Grace OMalley-Kumar's Mother Feels 'Let Down'

The mother of one of the victims of the Nottingham Knife Attack has expressed outrage after learning that the BBC will broadcast a program about the tragedy. Grace OMalley-Kumar's mother, who has not been identified, said she feels "let down" by the BBC's decision to air the program.

Grace OMalley-Kumar, 19, was one of three people killed in the attack on June 13, 2022. Her mother said she was unaware of the BBC's plans to broadcast the program and was shocked and disappointed when she found out.

"I feel very let down by the BBC," she said. "They have not contacted me or my family about this program, and I am very concerned about the impact it will have on us."

The mother said she is worried that the program will reopen old wounds for her family and that it will not accurately represent the events of that night.

"I do not want to relive that night," she said. "I want to remember my daughter for the beautiful person she was, not for the way she died."

The BBC has defended its decision to broadcast the program, saying it is an important story that needs to be told.

"We understand that this is a difficult time for the families of the victims, but we believe that it is important to tell their story," a BBC spokesperson said.

"This program will explore the events of that night and the impact it has had on the victims' families and the Nottingham community."

The program is scheduled to air on BBC One on Monday, February 27, at 9 pm.
